The top picture for the spread is original photography from the Philippines. The rest of the places were found on Airbnb's pinterest page. The people I used are Facebook friends.
I got the description in "About This Listing" from a real listing in airbnb and changed it a little. Also, say hello to Gilbert. Yes, that's his real name.
I made the first version of the site map based off of Sean's pre comps by using thin, light gray lines. I organized the content in this fashion because it was the easiest for me to follow. I tried to make everything branch from the center of the homepage bar, but it was too cluttered and cramped.
This is the final sitemap. We added in a few things and renamed some of the assets in the website. It may seem like a lot of pages, but these assets are really accessible on one page.
Project 1 Carebnb:

Carebnb would give people who wouldn't normally be able to travel by providing care taking services. The caretakers are given a background check and are hired by the host. Travelers can choose what services they want and which days they need them.
Web Design
For this design I wanted to mix vector with image and have a little bit of a grungy texture.
Here I wanted to make the design much lighter and focus on a polygon style because it is trendy and it would be different to have a light color.
In my final design I wanted to have a more vector based design and organize things in circles and rectangles. I mostly liked rounded edges.
Here you can see all the designs in one place, making it easier to compare and contrast them.
I went with the more vector based design. These are my prelims. In these designs the typography isn't as resolved as it should be and the organization seems boring. The profile picture is also too dark.
Project 2 Mic Night:

Mic Night uses a GPS location to see what karaoke bars are in close proximity of the user while in NY. This gives the user a list of karaoke bars with how far away the bar is. The user can select a bar and get directions. They can go to a bar alone or with friends to make the experience more fun.
Once at the bar you can sing solo or with friends. Try to reach the highest score in the bar, personal best, or in your party.

I took pictures from the Browse n Shop's Facebook page and personal pictures. I made this in a collage because thrift shops are a place with a plethora of different things in one big place.
For option one I wanted to make the menu in graphics that look like price tags. This follows the structure of the Wayne Council of PTO's website.
This is a cleaner look that also resembles the Wayne Council of PTO's website, but I made scale adjustments and used pictures to help separate information and have something else to look at other than text.
I had to make a third design because I was told that the previous designs did not give off a thrift-shop vibe. To help I used a canvas fabric texture and used dashed lines to resemble clothing stitching.
